Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

About the Role
You'll provide direct nursing care in a busy emergency department, implementing and monitoring patient care plans while coordinating care across multiple disciplines. You'll assess patient conditions, communicate clinical updates, execute physician and nursing orders, and help coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team. This role demands critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to stay composed in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Unit Overview
The emergency department handles high-volume acute and trauma cases. You'll work alongside nurses, clerks, transporters, and patient care technicians in a collaborative environment supported by physician and nursing residency programs. Inpatient holding and boarding are typical. Staff wear navy scrubs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Texas Board of Nursing RN license
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification within 6 months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire
What You'll Need to Complete
Standard onboarding requirements include immunization verification (MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Influenza, Hepatitis B), TB screening, fit testing, background check, drug screen, and EHR competency assessments.
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
