Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Contract Duration: 12 weeks

Location: Murfreesboro, TN

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to provide rapid, high-quality care to patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where clinical judgment and quick decision-making are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and according to acuity and urgency
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status; recognize and respond to patient deterioration
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as ordered
  • Initiate and maintain intravenous access; obtain blood specimens
  • Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
  • Operate cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide care for medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to infection-control and safety protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (may be required)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (preferred or required)
  • Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care experience preferred
