Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Contract Duration: 12 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Role

Join the facility's Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse, providing rapid, high-quality care to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where clinical judgment and quick decision-making are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and based on acuity and urgency.
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as ordered.
  • Initiate and maintain intravenous access; obtain blood specimens for lab testing.
  • Assist with emergency procedures: CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, wound care, and other lifesaving interventions.
  • Operate cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, ventilators, and other emergency equipment.
  • Recognize patient deterioration and initiate prompt interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other team members.
  • Provide compassionate care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow infection-control and medication-safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • PALS and TNCC certifications may be required.
  • Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
