Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility's emergency department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver rapid, high-quality care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies. You'll work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where strong clinical judgment and quick decision-making are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and based on acuity and urgency
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and patient condition changes
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and ordered treatments
  • Initiate and maintain IV access; obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing
  • Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
  • Operate and monitor emergency equipment (cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, ventilators)
  • Recognize patient deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other team members
  • Manage patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma emergencies
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection-control and medication-safety protocols
  • Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and continuing education

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification (may be required)
  • TNCC certification (preferred or required)
  • Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred

Shift & Contract Details

  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
