ICU Travel Nurse — Long Beach, CA

13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Days | Start: November 2026

This high-acuity ICU position focuses on complex neurological, cardiac, and critical care patients. The unit is organized in pod-style clusters and is supported by in-house intensivists, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and 24/7 pharmacy.

Schedule & Coverage

• 12-hour day shifts, 0630–1900
• Every other weekend required
• Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (rotating with core staff)
• First to float to Telemetry and ED ICU/Tele holds
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• High-acuity neuro, cardiac, stroke, PCI, sepsis, ETOH, and TBI patients
• Ventriculostomy management and Camino ICP monitoring
• Ventilator management and vasoactive/antiarrhythmic/sedation drip titration
• RNs read and interpret their own telemetry strips (no monitor techs)

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Preferred Experience

• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience strongly preferred

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy blue (RN)
• Huddle report and bedside report format
• Structured orientation: ICU educator support on Day 1, followed by preceptor time
• No acrylic nails or gel polish permitted during assignment
• The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract
