PCU / Stepdown

Neuro/Surgical Telemetry RN | Jackson, TN | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN position is on a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with neurological and surgical diagnoses. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Holiday availability required
• No on-call requirements

Float Requirements

• Must be willing to float to other MS/Tele units or a low-acuity ICU as needed

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Active Tennessee or compact RN license

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience required
• Travel experience preferred; prior charge experience a plus
• Clinical skills include: telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management, BiPAP/CPAP, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, ABG interpretation, heparin and IV insulin protocols, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, wound care/wound vac, pre/post neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain injury management

Charting

• Recent experience with a major EHR system required and must be clearly documented; candidates will be required to pass a competency exam (one attempt only)

Vaccines

• COVID-19: Required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Flu: Required, no exemptions
