Geriatric Psychiatry RN — Asheville, NC

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

This travel RN opportunity is on a specialized Geriatric Psychiatry unit providing inpatient behavioral health care to older adults. The unit manages patients requiring a blend of psychiatric and medical nursing skills, making experience in both behavioral health and geriatric care essential.

Unit Overview:

• Intimate, specialty-focused inpatient unit
• Patient population: geriatric psychiatric patients with concurrent medical needs
• Typical procedures include vital signs monitoring, blood draws, bladder scans, Rapid Response, and Code Blue participation

Team Structure:

• Day Shift: 2 RNs, 2 Behavioral Health Technicians, and sitters as assigned
• Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• BLS certification (current)
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience in behavioral health and/or geriatric nursing
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach and strong team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

• De-escalation experience with psychiatric patients
• Flexibility across varied clinical situations

Additional Details:

• Float: All adult inpatient areas
• Weekends: Required
• On-Call: None
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (white top/navy pants or all white)
