This night-shift travel RN opportunity is on a high-acuity Surgical Trauma ICU in Asheville, NC. The unit manages a complex surgical and trauma patient population, requiring advanced critical care skills and a composed, team-oriented approach.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
Nurses on this unit perform and assist with intubation/extubation, chest tube and central line placement, arterial line placement, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, proning, TPA administration, hypertonic medication management, tracheostomy placement, EVD/bolt management, CRRT/HD, irrigation and debridement, and minor bedside surgery.
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or compact)
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications
- Acute Care ICU experience required — no LTAC experience considered
- Trauma ICU experience at a Level I or Level II Trauma Center strongly preferred
- Surgical ICU background required
Scheduling & Float
- Six weekend shifts required on a 6-week schedule
- Travelers float before core staff; float destinations include medical, neuro, cardiovascular, and cardiac ICUs, as well as Step Down
