PCU / Stepdown

Progressive Care / Step-Down RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This is a 13-week night shift contract (18:45–07:15) on a combined step-down and medical-surgical unit in Asheville, NC. The unit manages a range of intermediate to acute care patients, including those requiring cardiac drips, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and stable ventilated patients.

Unit Overview

• Combined step-down and med-surg environment
• Clinical scope includes trach care, chest tube management, wound dressing changes, and patient mobility support
• Float requirement: other med-surg and progressive care units within the facility

Schedule & Commitment

• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts per 6-week period

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Hands-on tracheostomy experience (required; candidates without will not be considered)
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with electronic health record documentation (preferred)

Additional Details

• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Ideal candidate is clinically competent, adaptable, and comfortable managing a varied patient population across acuity levels
