Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) — Travel RN

Asheville, NC | Nights: 18:45–07:15 | 13-Week Contract

This CICU position supports a high-acuity cardiac critical care unit managing complex patients requiring intensive hemodynamic monitoring and advanced interventions. The unit is RN-only — no HUC or PCT support — making strong autonomous clinical skills essential.

Schedule & Contract Details

• 36 hours/week | 12-hour night shifts
• Alternating weekends
• Travelers float to all areas of the hospital

Required Skills & Experience

• Prior ICU experience required
• Titration of vesicant medications and familiarity with pressors
• Sedation and paralytic management
• Ventilator and trach care
• Telemetry interpretation
• Hemodynamic monitoring, PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Transvenous pacing, cardioversion, and TEE
• Chest tube insertion and maintenance

Advanced Skills (Highly Desirable)

• IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy
• Chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis

Certifications

• No certifications required to start
• CCRN strongly recommended; IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications appreciated

Dress Code

• All navy or navy and white scrubs required
• No pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs
