Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC
This 16-week contract places you in a high-acuity Emergency Department on a night shift (18:45–07:15). The unit manages a diverse, high-volume patient population across medical emergencies, behavioral health holds, and complex trauma and stroke presentations.
Schedule & Assignment Details
- Shift: 18:45–07:15 (nights)
- Contract duration: 16 weeks | Start date: October 19, 2026
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Every other weekend required; block scheduling is not available
- No floating outside the ED; flexibility to work all areas within the ED (, cardiac monitoring, internal processing) is required
Clinical Environment
- High-volume Emergency Department serving a diverse, multilingual community
- Patient population includes medical emergencies, behavioral health holds, trauma, and stroke cases
- Techs available in cardiac monitoring, , and processing areas; unit clerks on days and nights
- Dress code: Navy scrubs
Required Certifications (prior to submission)
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, ENPC
Required Certifications (prior to start)
- PALS, TNCC, CPI
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Prior experience in a high-volume ED strongly preferred
- Strong teamwork mentality; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Commitment to patient experience standards, including AIDET principles and ongoing patient communication throughout each visit
