Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC
This 13-week travel contract places you in a fast-paced Emergency Department serving a diverse, multicultural community. The night shift runs 18:45–07:15, with a 36-hour weekly guarantee.
The Unit
The ED manages a high volume and broad acuity range, including behavioral health holds, medical emergencies, and stroke patients. Techs are available throughout the department supporting cardiac monitoring, , and internal processing. Unit clerks are on days and nights. The team is known for its collaborative culture and welcoming environment.
Schedule & Float
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling is not available; scheduling meets department needs
- Floating within ED sections only — no floating outside the ED
Required Certifications (before start date)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC within 90 days of hire
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
- High-volume or trauma ED background strongly preferred
- Teamwork-oriented with the ability to coach peers and adapt in real time
- Flexibility to work all areas of the ED
