This fast-paced Emergency Department in Wichita, KS is seeking an experienced Travel RN for a 13-week contract on the day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

About the Unit

The ED manages a diverse patient population across adult and pediatric cases, operating within a pod-based staffing model. Each pod is supported by a charge nurse, bedside RNs, a tech, unit clerk, physician, and midlevel provider. The unit moves quickly and values nurses who can adapt, prioritize, and maintain a strong focus on patient experience.

Common Procedures

• IV starts
• Medication administration
• Procedural sedation
• Pediatric care (team nursing model)

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of current hospital ED experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale
• CPI Blue Card

Preferred Qualifications

• ENPC certification
• Experience in high-volume emergency settings

Unit Expectations

• Medication scanning required for every patient encounter
• Must be able to maintain pace in a high-volume, high-acuity environment
• Adaptable team player comfortable working alongside a dynamic, energetic staff

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks
