Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist to join its perioperative team. You'll provide direct patient care and surgical support in a high-acuity environment, working alongside surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff to ensure safe, coordinated patient outcomes.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Schedule: 4 x 10-hour days per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures, including open heart cases
- Implement and monitor intraoperative patient care plans
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the surgical team
- Coordinate with all surgical disciplines to ensure seamless case flow
- Follow physician and nursing orders with precision
- Adhere to Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
- Demonstrate critical thinking and make sound judgments with minimal supervision
- Work effectively in a high-stress surgical environment
Required Qualifications
- Current NBSTSA Certification (Surgical Technologist)
- Valid state surgical technologist license
- Demonstrated experience with open heart/cardiovascular procedures
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile technique
