ICU Travel RN — Night Shift | Batavia, NY

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Start: October 2026

About the Unit

This intensive care unit manages a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics. The unit sees high acuity cases including ventilator-dependent patients, titratable drip management, substance abuse withdrawal, and multisystem organ dysfunction. Disease processes commonly encountered span cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and GI systems, with post-operative patients also a regular part of the census.

Procedures & Skills in Use

• Arterial line and central line placement/management
• Intubation and airway management (including glidescope-assisted)
• Chest tube insertion/removal assistance; open abdomen care
• Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and fresh tracheostomy care
• Titratable cardiac and vasoactive drips; IV insulin protocols; continuous sedation and paralytic management
• CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol
• Procedural sedation, blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Schedule & Logistics

• Every other weekend required
• Float to med/surg required
• Prior travel experience required; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible

Required Certifications

ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Active New York RN license required at time of submission
• Proficiency with electronic health records is a hard requirement
• Scrubs: any combination of navy and white
