Emergency Department — RN | Night Shift | Knoxville, TN

Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 19, 2026

About the Role

This position supports the Emergency Department with a focus on ED boarding/holding care. Nurses in this role are assigned to patients who have been admitted and are awaiting inpatient bed placement — care may be delivered in a designated holding area or, at times, in hallway spaces during high-census periods. If no boarding patients are present, nurses may be assigned to an acute care area on an as-needed basis.

Unit & Schedule Details

• Every other weekend required; some holiday coverage expected
• Float within scope to meet facility needs
• Block schedule accommodation considered

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care or Med/Surg Telemetry
• First-time travelers considered based on prior clinical experience
• Active Tennessee RN license or qualifying compact license required at time of submission (pending license not accepted)
• ACLS and BLS required

• 2 professional references required (may be pending at submission)
• Non-billable orientation modules average 2–4 hours, completed onsite during orientation
