Operating Room RN – 3×12 Days
Position Overview
The facility's operating room is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join a high-volume surgical team. You'll circulate and scrub across a diverse surgical service, managing an average daily census of 22 cases with a focus on cardiac, general, vascular, and specialty procedures.
Shift & Schedule
- Weekend requirement: Alternating weekends
- On-call: 1 day per week; 1–2 weekend call shifts per 4–5 week cycle (7a–7p or 7p–7a, 30-minute response time)
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Start date: October 29, 2026
- Orientation: Every other Friday (16 hours)
- Guaranteed hours: 36/week
Required Qualifications
- License: West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending license accepted)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years RN; 1 year in-specialty OR experience (cardiac and general surgery required)
- Certification: BLS (American Heart Association)
- Flu vaccine: Required during flu season (October 1–March 31); medical exemptions only
- Residency: Permanent address within 100 miles of the facility (75–99 miles considered case-by-case)
Clinical Skills Required
You must be proficient in both circulating and scrubbing across:
- Cardiac & Vascular: CABG, aortic repair, femoral-popliteal bypass, embolectomies, AV fistulas/grafts
- General: Colectomy, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, Whipple, liver resection, thyroidectomy, mastectomy
- Thoracic, Ortho, ENT, Urology, Robotics, GYN
- Specialty techniques: Vein harvesting, radial artery harvesting
