Medical Rehabilitation RN — Night Shift | Charleston, WV

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week (discuss with manager)

This inpatient medical rehabilitation unit focuses on complex neurological and physical recovery. The patient population includes those diagnosed with cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, neuromuscular disease, and severe deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events. Average length of stay is approximately two weeks.

Care Model

Each patient is supported by a collaborative interdisciplinary team — including a physiatrist, nurse practitioner, RN, therapists, and social worker — with structured therapy provided three hours per day, Monday through Friday.

Schedule & Float

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required; no call requirement
• Float within scope to med-surg when needed
• Block scheduling requests considered — discuss at interview

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS (AHA required)
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for submission; must be active by start date)
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from facility

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• 1 year in-specialty experience required
• Charge experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted

Additional Details

• Scrub color: Royal Blue/White or combination
• Orientation held every other Thursday (16 hours)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required at submission
