Oncology

Med/Surg Oncology RN — Night Shift | Bristol, TN | 13-Week Contract

This Med/Surg Oncology unit cares for a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with a primary focus on oncology and post-surgical patients. Travelers will not be required to administer chemotherapy.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• 36-hour weekly commitment
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating to other units when needed

Clinical Scope

• Skills include IV access and management, central line care, PICC line management, port access, blood product administration, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, wound care/wound vac, feeding tube care, colostomy/ileostomy management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and oral suctioning
• Participation in nursing student clinical education is expected alongside direct patient care

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele experience
• AHA BLS certification (AHA is the only accepted form)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility

Compliance & Onboarding

• Relias basic EKG test required within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Orientation begins Sundays with online modules (non-billable, approximately 4–5 hours)
• Drug test must be completed 12–14 days prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Facial hair must comply with CDC fit-testing guidelines
