Oncology RN — Infusion Clinic
Position Overview
The facility's oncology infusion clinic seeks an experienced RN to deliver chemotherapy and supportive care to adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient setting. This is an excellent choice for first-time travelers; the team values and recognizes travel clinicians as core members.
Schedule & Contract
- Shift: Day, 5×8 hours (flexible start times: 7:45 AM, 8:00 AM, 8:30 AM, or 9:30 AM)
- Duration: 13 weeks, ASAP start
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
- Weekends: Not required
- Call: Not required
Clinical Scope
Perform approximately 6 chemotherapy infusions and 1–2 port draws daily. You'll manage:
- Chemotherapy administration (IV, continuous, and oral routes)
- Port care and central-line management
- Monitoring for chemotherapy toxicity, extravasation, anaphylaxis, and acute tumor lysis syndrome
- Supportive symptom management (nausea, neuropathy, constipation, altered mental status)
- Neutropenic precautions and infection prevention
Equipment & Systems
You will work with Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps. EMR experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (Compact license required at submission)
- Minimum 1 year oncology or infusion outpatient experience
- BLS certification
- Oncology certification (ONCC or ONS)
- Two professional references (within the last 3 years)
Additional Notes
- You may be asked to float to nearby sister facilities; refusal may affect guaranteed hours.
- Commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
