Respiratory Therapist – NICU
Position Overview
Join the NICU team as a Travel Respiratory Therapist on the night shift (5:30 PM – 6:00 AM). This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to provide critical respiratory support to the hospital's neonatal intensive care population.
About the Unit
The NICU is a high-acuity specialty unit focused on managing critically ill and premature infants requiring advanced respiratory support. You'll work with a lean, experienced team of respiratory therapists and nursing staff dedicated to evidence-based neonatal care.
What You'll Do
- Perform ventilator assessments and adjustments on neonatal patients
- Deliver breathing treatments and airway management
- Collaborate with the charge RT and clinical team to optimize patient outcomes
- Work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM, night rotation
- Staffing: 1 Charge RT plus 8–10 clinical RTs per shift
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital RRT experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (required)
- NICU or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong critical care background and patient-focused approach
