PCU / Stepdown

Neuro/Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Jackson, TN

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (18:45–07:15) | Start: October 2026

This position is on a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry unit managing adult and geriatric patients with neurological and telemetry-monitoring needs. The unit provides robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, IV teams, rapid response, physical therapy, and social services.

Schedule & Float

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Three weekend shifts per four-week schedule
• No on-call requirement; float to other MS/Tele units or low-acuity ICU as needed
• No block scheduling or special schedule requests accommodated

Required Certifications & Licensure

• AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — all must be current at time of submission
• Active Tennessee or compact RN license

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience
• Recent charting system experience within the past 18 months — must be clearly documented on submission profile; candidates must pass a competency exam (one attempt only)

Clinical Skills — Candidates Should Be Proficient In:

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Central line and PICC line care, port access, and IV management
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Blood product administration, heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Pre/post neurosurgery and traumatic brain injury care
• Tracheostomy care, chest tubes, wound care/wound vac
• Arterial blood gas interpretation, procedural sedation monitoring

Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with neurological and telemetry diagnoses

All requested time off must be disclosed at submission — no additional RTO will be considered after that point.
