Medical-Surgical Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN to join its Medical-Surgical unit for a 13-week contract. You'll provide direct bedside care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses, managing pre- and post-operative cases, chronic conditions, and acute presentations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Monitor vital signs and patient condition, escalating changes promptly
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy, wound care, and catheter care
• Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care, including pain management and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on procedures, medications, and discharge instructions
• Coordinate care with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments and interventions
• Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (New York State with primary source verification)
• AHA BLS certification (ACLS required for select locations)
• Minimum 2 years Med-Surg experience in acute care, with recent experience (within past year)
• ADN required; BSN preferred
• Strong skills in physical assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
• Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload across acuity levels
• CMSRN certification preferred

Schedule & Details

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM shifts
• 13-week contract
• Start date: October 26, 2026

English fluency (read, write, speak) required.
