Physical Therapist Assistant – Acute Care & Rehab
Position Overview
Join the therapy team in a dynamic acute care and rehabilitation setting. You'll provide direct patient care across multiple service lines, including orthopedic, neurological, vascular, and general medical-surgical patients.
What You'll Do
- Deliver therapy evaluation and treatment under supervision of a licensed PT
- Screen patients to determine therapy service needs
- Contribute to appropriate discharge planning and recommendations
- Work with patients in both acute care and rehabilitation settings
Patient Care
- Acute Care: target of 8 patients per day
- Rehabilitation Unit: target of 4 patients per day
- Work with a variety of equipment including exercise devices and DMEs
Requirements
- Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Flexibility with scheduling, including weekend availability
- Willingness to float between acute care and rehabilitation units
- Fast learner, open to training and feedback
Ideal Candidate
- Positive attitude and adaptable mindset
- Experience in acute care and/or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health records a plus
Schedule & Details
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Weekends: Yes
- On-call: None
