Associate Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Associate Director of Nursing to provide administrative and clinical leadership for the Behavioral Health Department, overseeing CPEP (Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program), inpatient, and outpatient services. This is a full-time leadership role reporting to the Director of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure safe patient care coverage across all behavioral health units
• Monitor unit performance metrics, quality indicators, and regulatory compliance
• Develop and implement programs to improve patient care and employee performance
• Support staff development, performance evaluations, and corrective actions as needed
• Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for complex patient care or staff issues
• Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and hospital administration on operational and strategic needs
• Facilitate staff meetings, education, and onboarding for new team members
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and accreditation standards
• Participate in budget planning, supply management, and process improvement initiatives
• Address patient and family concerns to maintain satisfaction and safety
• Develop record-keeping systems for medication errors and staff counseling documentation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in New York State
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• BLS certification
• Minimum 7 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Demonstrated expertise in behavioral health (both inpatient and outpatient settings)
• Strong leadership, staffing, and performance management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing

Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour days | Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 26, 2026
