RN – Med/Surg Telemetry (Orthopedic Spine) | Columbia, SC | Night Shift
Shift: 4x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

About the Unit
This telemetry-capable orthopedic spine unit provides specialized post-operative care for patients following spinal surgeries, including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies. The unit integrates pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support as core components of recovery.
Patient diagnoses span med/surg and telemetry, including cardiac monitoring, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE. Special procedures include bedside lumbar puncture, post-cath care (radial and femoral), post-renal biopsy care, CT angiography, and heparin drip management.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response, social services, and more.
Schedule & Staffing
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per contract)
- Float to other units or campuses may be required based on census; floating is limited to areas within your documented competencies
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele and orthopedic nursing experience
- Active SC or multistate RN license (no pending licenses)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Dysrhythmia
- Electronic medical records experience: minimum 1 year required
