Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Reidsville, NC

13-Week Travel Contract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

This medical-surgical telemetry unit manages a diverse population of acutely ill adult and geriatric patients. First-time travelers are welcome, provided they meet the minimum two years of MS/Tele experience requirement.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every-other-weekend rotation; holidays as needed
• Float required between facility campuses as needed

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

The unit cares for patients with diagnoses including post-op general, GYN, orthopedic (total knee/hip) surgeries, acute and chronic respiratory illness, CHF/pulmonary edema, active GI bleeding, renal failure, diabetes management, drug overdose, CIWA monitoring, new-onset or uncontrolled seizures, arrhythmias, suicidal ideation, radioactive therapy, and stable respiratory illness. IV drips administered include heparin and TNA.

Required Skills

• Telemetry monitoring (unit-based and remote); dysrhythmia interpretation
• Blood product administration, PICC line and peripheral IV management
• Chest tube management, port access, pre/post hemodialysis management
• Rapid response and code team participation
• Isolation precautions/PPE

Certifications

• BLS required
• ACLS and NIHSS preferred

Compliance Requirements

• Minimum 2 years MS/Tele experience
• Active RN license required at time of submission
• EKG competency exam required (2 attempts allowed)
• No candidates within 50-mile radius of facility
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• 36-hour orientation; non-billable modules average 2–4 hours
