Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Burlington, NC

13-Week Contract | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-Hour Shifts

This inpatient Med-Surg Telemetry unit cares for adults and geriatric patients with complex, multi-morbidity presentations, with a specialty focus on stroke and neurological patient populations. First-time travelers are welcome.

Schedule & Coverage

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
• Float required between multiple system campuses

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Stroke (CVA) and neuro-focused inpatient care alongside general Med-Surg Tele patients
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and remote telemetry surveillance
• Skills required: port access/management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, peripheral IV insertion and maintenance, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, nasal cannula, and isolation precautions

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Telemetry remote monitoring experience required; on-unit monitoring preferred
• Charting system proficiency required
• All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
• No local candidates within 50 miles; current driver's license required

• No open background cases permitted
• Non-billable orientation modules average 2–4 hours
