About the Role
The facility is seeking a compassionate Medical-Surgical RN to deliver comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions. You'll work the night shift in a dynamic acute care setting, managing pre- and post-operative patients, monitoring vital signs, and responding to changes in patient condition with clinical precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans in consultation with the healthcare team
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, perform wound care, and insert catheters
- Monitor telemetry and vitals; report adverse reactions promptly
- Manage typical patient loads of 4–6 patients per shift
- Coordinate discharge planning and educate patients and families on care instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
- Uphold infection control and fall prevention protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State with primary source verification
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience in acute care (most recent within the past year)
- AHA BLS certification
- AHA ACLS certification
- Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Strong physical assessment, medication administration, and wound care skills
- IV therapy and post-operative care expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse)
- EMR experience
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
