REGISTERED NURSE – EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for its busy Emergency Department. You'll deliver rapid, high-quality care to patients across a wide spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and comprehensive assessments to determine patient acuity and prioritize care
• Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and patient deterioration with appropriate emergency interventions
• Monitor and manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members on care planning
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, follow-up care, and treatment
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Ensure infection control, patient safety, and de-escalation protocols are consistently followed
• Support efficient patient flow and throughput in a high-volume setting

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• 1+ years of Emergency Department experience
• Demonstrated experience with protocols and high-acuity environments
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred

Schedule & Contract Details

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Location: Elizabethtown, KY
