Med Surg Tele

Medical-Surgical Telemetry | Travel RN | Nights | Fort Dodge, IA

This 13-week travel assignment places you on a fast-paced Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit, caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and step-down level management. Night shift runs 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts), with a start date of October 19, 2026.

Clinical Scope

• Med-Surg/Telemetry patient population with moderate-to-high acuity
• Drip management required: cardiac drips, heparin, insulin, and titrated infusions
• Float potential within the same nursing discipline across local campuses

Schedule Details

• Nights, 12-hour shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every third weekend required
• Holiday coverage required: 1–2 of 3 (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Orientation begins every Monday
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele experience
• First-time travelers considered with at least 3 years of nursing experience
• Proficiency with drip management (cardiac, heparin, insulin, titration)
• Active Iowa RN license required
• Must not have been employed at this facility system within the last 12 months
• Taxable home address must be 50+ miles from the facility

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
