ICU Registered Nurse — Night Shift | North Charleston, SC | 13-Week Contract

This mixed ICU position offers experienced critical care nurses the opportunity to work within a high-acuity, clinically diverse unit managing both cardiovascular and neurological ICU patients. The unit is actively willing to support skill development in Neuro ICU and Cardiovascular ICU specialties, including care of head and neck flap patients.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 19:00–07:00
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis
• Guaranteed hours: 48 per pay period

Clinical Scope

The unit manages a complex patient population requiring advanced critical care skills, including:

• Post-op day 0 CABG patients
• Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, and Swan-Ganz catheter management
• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• CRRT
• Neuro procedures: aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVD management, intracranial bolt monitoring, and induced hypothermia
• Telemetry interpretation
• Respiratory treatments (inhalers and nebulizers) administered by RNs
• Phlebotomy
• Bedside shift report for every patient handoff

Float Requirements

Travelers float first and may be assigned to the ED or PCU to manage PCU or ICU-hold patients.

Requirements

• Minimum 36 months RN experience, with at least 1 year in ICU
• Ventilator management proficiency required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• BSN preferred

Certifications Required

• BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• TNCC preferred; advanced certifications preferred

Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Contract Duration: 13 weeks
