Cardiac Telemetry Nurse

Kansas City, MO | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-week contract

About the Role

Join the cardiac telemetry unit at the facility in Kansas City. You'll care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures in a fast-paced, supportive environment. This role offers the chance to expand your telemetry skills while working alongside experienced clinicians who are committed to excellence in heart failure care.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and manage post-cardiac procedure patients, including those post-ablation, cardiac catheterization, open-heart surgery (POD1), and permanent pacemaker placement
• Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips independently
• Administer and titrate IV cardiac medications (insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)
• Perform IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube management, temporary pacemaker care, and Foley insertions
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with facility values
• Work with charge nurses, unit secretaries, and PCTs in a collaborative care model
• Float to other units as needed based on demonstrated competency

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience required
• Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post-cardiac procedural care

Scheduling

• Full-time, 36 hours per week
• Includes 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• May float to other areas where you have demonstrated competency

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs (black pants with navy blue top also acceptable)

This is a 13-week contract beginning September 21, 2026.
