Labor & Delivery RN – 12-Week Assignment

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour days: 7 AM–7 PM
• Every other weekend
• No call requirement
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Three-shift unit orientation

The Role

You'll join a busy perinatal unit managing labor, delivery, antepartum, and services. This is a high-acuity setting where you'll care for patients from 20 weeks gestation and above, including those with complex medical and obstetric conditions: gestational and pre-existing diabetes, hypertension, multiple gestations, substance use disorder, and limited prenatal care.

Clinical Scope

• Labor induction and management (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips)
• Cesarean section support: circulating and scrubbing required; scrubbing experience preferred
• Continuous fetal heart rate monitoring and interpretation
• Antepartum and postpartum care
• Float assignments to antepartum and postpartum as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years L&D experience
• Demonstrated experience with high-risk deliveries
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWOHNN) certifications
• C-section experience (circulating required; scrubbing preferred)

Unit Support

• Two OB technicians per shift assist with deliveries and C-sections
• 24/7 in-house OB attending physicians and neonatologist
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available around the clock
• Charge nurses available to provide patient assignments as needed

Additional Details

• Scrubs provided (must maintain sterile standard; no acrylic or overlay nails)
• One major and two minor holidays included
• Travel nursing experience preferred
