Labor & Delivery – Night Shift RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), three days per week, with every other weekend required. No on-call duties.

Clinical Scope

This L&D unit manages labor induction, vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, high-risk antepartum cases, and postpartum care. You'll circulate and recover cesarean sections, perform fetal heart monitoring, conduct sterile vaginal exams, manage pain, and support neonatal resuscitation. The unit also handles multiple gestations, preterm labor, and postpartum hemorrhage management. Interdisciplinary support includes radiology, pharmacy, and interpretation services.

Requirements

• Valid California RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required at submission
• Minimum 2 years L&D experience
• Willingness to float within the hospital as needed
• Two supervisor references preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge nurse experience
• BSN

Orientation includes non-billable online modules (approximately 7.25 hours). Labs required within 48–72 hours of signing.
