ICU Travel RN | Redding, CA | 13-Week Contract

This fast-paced ICU/Trauma unit manages a high-acuity patient population including trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, ventriculostomies, and ICP monitoring. The unit runs a robust interventional radiology program and maintains intensivist and respiratory therapy coverage around the clock.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Schedules built approximately 6 weeks in advance
• Travelers are first to float; potential float units include PCU, CICU, telemetry, and med-surg (ICU-level patients in CICU)

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks | Start: October 20, 2026
• Guaranteed: 36 hours/week
• Cancellation policy: Up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Required Certifications

• BLS & ACLS (required)
• NIHSS (required)
• PALS preferred; required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
• COVID vaccine required
• Onsite proctored Dysrhythmia Exam — Day 1, Pass/Fail

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years ICU experience
• Must have experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies, OR post-tPA patient management
• Trauma experience strongly preferred
• Ability to titrate vasopressors and sedation drips
• RNs must independently interpret telemetry strips

Unit Support

• Charge nurse on duty 24/7 (no patient assignment)
• House supervisor available 24/7
• Intensivist and RT on unit 24/7

• Candidates must be team-oriented, comfortable asking for help, and ready for a demanding, high-volume environment
