Registered Respiratory Therapist — Travel Contract

Newark, NY | Nights | 13 Weeks

This 13-week travel contract places an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist in an Eastern Region healthcare system serving a diverse patient population across acute care and long-term care settings. A personal vehicle is required, as many locations are rural and rideshare services are not reliable.

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts per contract

Float Requirements

Candidates will float between long-term care and acute care facilities within the Eastern Region as determined during the scheduling period.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• All age groups: neonates through geriatrics
• Common diagnoses: CHF, COPD, ia, respiratory failure, respiratory infections
• Procedures: ABG sampling, ventilator management, pulmonary hygiene, medication administration, patient assessment
• Airway management: intubation assist, extubation, nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care
• Modalities: BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, bag-mask ventilation, mechanical ventilator weaning and high-pressure alarm troubleshooting

Requirements

• Active New York RRT license required at time of submission
• Certifications: BLS, RRT
• Minimum 1 year of RRT experience
• Long-term care experience required
• Electronic charting experience required
• First-time travelers welcome
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Orientation: 36 hours
