NICU RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a compassionate NICU RN to join a Level III neonatal unit on night shift (18:00–06:30). This is a 13-week travel contract starting ASAP.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: Night 3×12-hour (18:00–06:30)
• Weekends: Every other weekend; may exceed to meet unit needs
• On-call: No
• Call-off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Float Requirements: May float to Mother-Baby unit for babies; full floating available if couplet care experience present

Experience & Certifications Required

• 2+ years nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year in NICU specialty (first-timers with strong backgrounds considered)
• Current BCLS, NRP (Advanced preferred), and PALS
• Compact license required at time of submission

Clinical Scope

You'll care for neonates and infants in a high-acuity environment managing prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, feeders and growers, neonatal sepsis, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. Expected competencies include:

• Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP)
• Central line and PICC line management
• High-flow nasal cannula and oscillator therapy
• Arterial line management, intubation assistance, spinal taps
• Medication administration (vasopressors, surfactants, antibiotics)
• Phototherapy and therapeutic hypothermia
• Feeding support and developmental care
