ICU – Night Shift | Napa, CA | 13-Week Contract

This intensive care position supports a high-acuity adult unit managing a diverse, complex patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit cares for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, trauma, subdural hematoma, and renal failure, with a strong focus on neurological and cardiovascular critical care.

Shift Details

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12-hour)
• Self-scheduling
• Weekend coverage required
• Float to nearby sister facilities may be required; refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours

Clinical Scope & Skills Required

• Cardiovascular and neurological intensive care experience
• CVA/acute stroke management
• ICP monitoring and post-craniotomy/post-neurosurgery care
• Traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury management
• Hypothermia protocol management
• CRRT, IABP, Impella, EVID, and CABG post-operative care
• Care of ventilated patients
• Chest tube insertion/removal assistance
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions

Interdisciplinary support includes: respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Valid compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted under a local arrangement

Additional Details

• Orientation: 12 hours
• Holiday commitment: Must work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
• 2 professional references required, covering the past year within the last 3 years
