Operating Room Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an Operating Room Nurse for a 13-week contract. This day shift position offers the opportunity to work across a diverse surgical service line in a dynamic acute care environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
- Weekend Coverage: 1 Saturday shift per 6-week rotation
- On-Call: 1 call shift per 6-week rotation
- Start Date: ASAP
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year OR experience
- Current BLS certification
- Valid state license (compact license in hand at submission)
- First-time travelers welcome
Clinical Scope
You'll support cases across multiple surgical specialties:
- Orthopedic surgery (total joint replacements, spine, minor procedures; experience with robotic-assisted surgery a plus)
- General surgery, gynecology, urology, and ENT
- Plastic and reconstructive surgery
- Robotic-assisted procedures (gynecologic, urologic, general)
The OR has 11 rooms and manages a diverse patient population from pediatrics through geriatrics.
Staffing & Float
You may be asked to float to a nearby sister facility. Flexibility with floating is a condition of assignment.
Unit Culture
Scrubs: Any color. Free parking. Charting via standard hospital system.
Application Notes
All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during application. Holiday commitments: you must be available to work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Provide 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience from the last 3 years.
