Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry — Acute Care Surgical & Bariatric Unit | Nights | Kingsport, TN

This travel RN opportunity is on an acute care surgical and bariatric unit managing adult patients with a range of post-operative, medical-surgical, and telemetry needs. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response, and social services.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (4x12)
• Schedule options: 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48
• Every other weekend required
• Float requirement in effect
• Contract duration: 13 weeks | Start: October 2026

Clinical Skills & Patient Care

• Adult patient population with surgical, bariatric, and medical-surgical diagnoses
• Telemetry monitoring including remote telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, PICC line management, PCA management, heparin and insulin administration, wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, renal failure, and isolation precautions
• Nursing student clinical education is an expected component of this role

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Med/Surg and MS/Tele required)
• ACLS and BLS required — AHA certification only
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility
• Relias basic EKG test must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Orientation begins Sundays (online modules); includes 16 hours non-billable orientation
