Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry — Ortho/Spine | Night Shift | Kingsport, TN

This 13-week travel contract places you on an Ortho/Spine/Med-Surg unit managing post-operative and neuro/trauma patients. The unit serves an adult population with diagnoses spanning orthopedic and neurosurgical post-op care, total joint replacement, and ortho trauma. You'll work alongside interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour nights | 18:30–07:00
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedules available
• Every other weekend required
• No call required
• Float required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or MS/Tele experience
• AHA BLS required (AHA certification only — no substitutes accepted)
• ACLS and NIHSS required
• First-time travelers welcome
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility

Clinical Skills Expected

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Central line blood draw, PICC line management, port access
• Blood product administration, heparin, insulin drips
• Chest tube care, wound care/wound vac
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Pre/post-op neurosurgery and hemodialysis management
• Colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management

Important Compliance Requirements

• Relias basic EKG test must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation)
• Drug test must be completed 12–14 days prior to start date
• Orientation begins Sundays; includes approximately 24 hours (4–5 hours of online modules are non-billable)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Facial hair must comply with CDC fit-testing guidelines
