Med/Surg RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Med/Surg RN for night shifts in a short-term acute care setting. This is an excellent opportunity for newer RNs to gain solid clinical experience in a supportive environment.
Schedule & Logistics
- Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Weekends: 6 shifts required over the 6-week period
- Float Position: You will float between units as needed
- Call-In: Not required
- 48-Hour Blocks: Approved
Clinical Environment
You'll care for adult and geriatric patients in a busy med/surg setting. The unit manages patients with diverse diagnoses and acuity levels, including post-operative care, wound management, bariatric surgery patients, and end-of-life/comfort care.
Key Skills & Experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Proficiency with: central lines, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen therapy, feeding tube management, wound care/wound vacs, PCA pumps, PICC lines, blood product administration, and isolation precautions
- Experience with common med/surg procedures and patient populations preferred
Requirements
- Valid compact state license (required at submission)
- Two professional references covering the past year
- Willingness to commit to 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Dress Code
Solid navy blue scrubs or uniforms for licensed nursing personnel.
