Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Bristol, TN

This 13-week travel contract places you on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit caring for an adult patient population with a range of cardiac and complex medical diagnoses. Night shift runs 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with flexible scheduling options (36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 blocks available).

Shift & Schedule

• Nights, 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• No call
• Floating to other units as needed
• Block scheduling

Clinical Scope

The unit manages adults with cardiac, neurological, renal, and post-procedural needs. Expected competencies include:

• Telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
• Cardiac drip management (no titration), heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Central line and PICC line care, blood product administration
• BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care
• Post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, and pre/post-cardiac and neurosurgical care
• Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, CVA, and TBI management
• Port access, PCA management, colostomy/ileostomy care
• Participation in nursing student clinical education is expected alongside patient care

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN or LPN experience
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS (AHA-issued only)
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation proficiency
• EKG testing (via Relias) must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance — two attempts allowed
• Previous charge experience preferred; pre/post thoracic surgery experience a plus
• First-time travelers welcome
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility

Compliance Notes

• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Drug test must be completed 12–14 days prior to start
• Fit testing required; facial hair must meet CDC guidelines
