Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Bristol, TN

13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (18:30–07:00)

This telemetry unit manages an adult patient population with a broad range of cardiac and medical-surgical diagnoses, including post-MI care, CVA, renal failure, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and pre/post cardiac, thoracic, and neurosurgical cases. Nurses are expected to monitor and manage telemetry both on-unit and remotely, interpret dysrhythmias, and titrate-free cardiac drip management.

Schedule

• 4x12-hour night shifts; 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 block schedules available
• Every other weekend required
• No call
• Floating to other units may be required

Clinical Skills Required

• Cardiac rhythm/dysrhythmia interpretation
• Central line care and PICC line management
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Heparin and IV insulin protocols
• PCA, port access, chest tube management
• Pre/post hemodialysis, cardiac angiogram, and surgical care
• Colostomy/ileostomy care; phlebotomy including central line blood draws

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS (AHA certification only accepted)
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Previous charge experience preferred; pre/post thoracic surgery experience a plus
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility
• First-time travelers welcome

Important Compliance Notes

• A basic EKG competency test must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Drug screening required 12–14 days prior to start
• Orientation begins Sundays; includes approximately 4–5 hours of non-billable online modules
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
