Med-Surg Oncology Nurse – Atlanta, GA
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Med-Surg Oncology nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours) on the day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with guaranteed hours.
About the Unit
You'll join a medical-surgical oncology team providing care to patients across the cancer treatment continuum. The unit handles both newly diagnosed and established oncology patients, managing chemotherapy administration, symptom management, post-operative recovery, and supportive care. You'll collaborate with oncologists, infusion specialists, and a multidisciplinary care team.
What You'll Do
- Administer chemotherapy and supportive medications per established protocols
- Monitor patients for treatment side effects and adverse reactions
- Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care for oncology procedures
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and self-care
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
Requirements
- Current RN license (GA)
- Medical-surgical or oncology nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
