Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical Therapist — Travel Contract | Petaluma, CA

Day Shift | 5x8 Hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) | 26-Week Contract

This travel Physical Therapist role floats between inpatient and outpatient settings, with the majority of caseload driven by med/surg and hospitalist referrals. The position requires strong independent clinical judgment — on weekends, you will serve as the sole therapist covering the acute care floor.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Adults, adolescents, and geriatrics
• Diagnoses include orthopedic conditions (total hip/knee, post-op spinal and shoulder), neurological conditions (stroke, TBI, Parkinson's, MS), cardiopulmonary diagnoses (CHF, COPD), and musculoskeletal pain
• Therapeutic interventions include gait training, mobility and transfer training, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy techniques, assistive/adaptive device training, and home exercise program development
• No wound care required

Schedule & Float

• Monday–Friday days with weekend coverage required (sole therapist on weekends in acute)
• May be asked to float to a nearby sister facility

Required Qualifications

• Active California PT license (compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of experience; 2 years preferred
• BLS certification
• Inpatient and outpatient experience with adult populations strongly preferred
• Strong time management and ability to work independently

Holiday Commitment

Must be available to work at least 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day. All time-off requests must be submitted upfront at the time of application.
