NICU Travel Nurse — Chattanooga, TN

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Hours: 36 hours/week, with occasional optional overtime

About the Unit

This NICU cares for high-acuity neonatal patients requiring Level III or IV care. The unit is nurse-driven — no bedside techs or unit secretary — and is supported by a respiratory therapy team for advanced airway management. Staff is notably experienced, with many nurses bringing 20–35+ years of NICU expertise to the team.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

Nurses independently perform:

• PIV insertion, feeding tube insertion, lab draws, straight catheterization
• Central line management
• Airway and respiratory management in collaboration with the RRT

Nurses assist providers with:

• Intubation, surfactant administration, central line placement, and chest tube placement

Schedule & Float

• Variable weekend rotation
• Willingness to take standby/call during low-census periods is strongly preferred
• Floating is not required; occasional voluntary float to mother-baby in a tech capacity is available

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Level III or IV NICU nursing experience
• Active RN license
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
