Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its intermediate care unit on a full-time, 13-week contract. This role offers the opportunity to practice independently while collaborating with an interprofessional team to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Full-time position
• 13-week contract
• Start date: October 12, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Manage patient assignments and delegate appropriately to optimize clinical workflow.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor effectiveness and side effects.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients and families; identify learning needs and available resources.
• Meet competency expectations at the level of Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Required Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or compact state
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA)
• 1 year experience in a related nursing specialty (preferred)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

Onboarding

All new hires complete orientation within the first 30 days, including precepted bedside training and competency validation specific to the unit.
