Cardiac Telemetry Nurse

Location: Kansas City, MO

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (days)

Schedule: 4 x 12-hour shifts

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week

About the Unit

Join a busy cardiac telemetry unit caring for patients recovering from cardiac procedures and managing complex cardiac conditions. You'll work alongside a charge nurse, unit secretary, and patient care technicians in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and 12-lead EKGs
• Provide post-procedure care for patients following ablations, cardiac catheterizations, and open-heart surgery
• Manage temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, and central lines
• Administer and titrate cardiac medications (insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)
• Perform IV insertions, NGT placements, and Foley catheterizations
• Float to other areas as needed based on demonstrated competency

What We're Looking For

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience required
• Strong ability to interpret EKGs and telemetry rhythms
• Experience with post-cardiac procedural nursing
• Patient-centered approach; responsive to patient needs

Unit Details

• Full-time schedule includes 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Team communication via Imobile
